SIDNEY HERALD - 1/12/2015

Sidney, MT – The Sidney City Council has granted Final Plat Approval for Phase 1 of The Homestead Subdivision located adjacent to the Richland County Law & Justice Center, one street north of Holly Street in the city of Sidney, Montana.  This 28-acre land parcel is zoned for both Residential and Commercial development.

Known as The Homestead Subdivision, the  development plan calls for separately divided lots ranging from  2 to 4.7 acres each, with a maximum potential of 9 lots. Full infrastructure improvements (paved streets, curbs and gutters, sewer and water) for Phase 1 of the subdivision are now complete and it is anticipated the second and final phase of the project will be completed summer of 2015.  As approved, Phase 1 of The Homestead is now available for sale and development.

Although there is no disputing the housing shortages in  the Sidney area, it is important to realize the commercial  infrastructure of the community is also under intense pressure from increased demands brought on by the  activity in the Bakken region”, said Don Sterhan, President and CEO of Mountain Plains Equity Group. “As the only existing approved subdivision of its kind within the immediate area, the Homestead Subdivision features both a “Commercial Park” and a “Residential Park” each with shovel-ready lots that are available for immediate development.”
